Eddie Murphy doesn't read newspaper in 20 years "content to play my guitar all day"

It has been reported recently that Eddie Murphy stated he hadn't read a newspaper in 20 years. Finally someone came out and said it.

Maybe he's getting his news from  multiple independent "unbiased" internet news sources ..(there's no such thing btw)....doubt it...Most people are acting like they are appalled by this admission...which, I think is very funny . I mean, does anyone read newspapers anymore?...aside from the obits...?

I think it's becoming a given that to get the truth or some version of it...a person needs to actively seek out news from multiple sources (which is more than possible these days on the web-a-net) in order to garner even the tiniest  amount of truth or accuracy.

That being said, there is a whole other group of people that just get their news from the Jon Stewart Show..I mean, the Daily Show...which is obviously unfortunate.  I don't think Eddie's watching much of that....at least I don't think so.

In the same news-bite that held that fact, Eddie also said he tells people he is a "semi-retired man of leisure" lol very cool...I would just like to hear him say that..lol...and that he only wants to do projects that he "really wants to do" and that he's not making anymore family movies......Thank you Mr. Murphy for sparing us the Klumps 8...and no more talking animals...Good for him...and us..

He also states that he is perfectly content playing guitar all day...being a guitarist myself and a huge Eddie Murphy fan I thought this was great..I wonder what type of stuff he plays...I wonder if he sings...'cause that would be amazing...can  you imagine? lol

Back to the newspaper comment:  I tend to agree with  Chomsky (http://www.chomsky.info/) .... I usually question the legitimacy of most news , on paper or otherwise...So, in a sense, I completely relate to Eddie Murphy and, truthfully, I almost think not reading the newspaper is a healthy thing...after all, as my Dad used to say:

 "you can't believe anything you hear, and only half of what you see" :)

Internet Security -the Death of Freedom? + Amish Beard Cutting Attacks--Cult-Style

So it seems the days of saying what you want to say, when and where, you want to say it...or sing it...are coming to an end.  The wheels of freedom seem to be coming to a screeching halt. First, there was talk of Pres. Obama approving the invention of an internet "Kill Switch" in the midst of a terror attack. But, in more recent news, “Department of Homeland Security Undersecretary Caryn Wagner said the use of such technology in uprisings that started in December in Tunisia shocked some officials into attention and prompted questions of whether the U.S. needs to do a better job of monitoring domestic social networking activity,” reports the Associated Press.

Wagner announced that the federal agency would implement new guidelines that would focus on “gleaning information from sites such as Twitter and Facebook for law enforcement purposes.”
It looks like Big Brother and his Little Sister are coming to shut us down. The story was enough to prompt me to start blogging ...(I seem to do everything at the last minute lately) in just enough time to exploit what self expression I have left in me.

I don't know why they would want to shut the internet down if we were being attacked...it seems to me that it would be our best weapon..after..a country like Iran..they aren't even really allowed to have the internet..at least as we know it..and they wouldn't know how to upload a photo to Facebook...We could just use myspace to communicate on....no one ever goes there anymore....or like AOL.  Our military could send open messages to eachother all day long through the Google Instant Messenger and wouldn't even have to worry about anyone stealing their thunder so to speak.   

Seriously folks, this is the kind of thing the Founding Fathers tried to warnus about eventhough they couldnt've  have perdicted something like the internet, let alone something as specific as Facebook or Twitter.  Stay Tuned for updates as this story develops.

Meanwhile in Ohio, you better watch your step if your Amish....or  if you have an extra long beard.. Members of the Amish community are branching out w/ their complaint box...all the way to the Ohio Police Dept.  

Appparantly there is an "Amish Cult", a group of separatists that live in their own community, blocked off from the others...A cult if you will...led by a Mr.  Sam Mullit,,,yes that's right, Mullit...you can't make this up....according to officials, and other members of the "normal" Amish community, Mr. Mullit and his roughly 180 followers are concocting their own brand of Amish-ness...against the wishes of the community.  Recently, members of the Mullit family were accused of going to an Amish families front door, asking for the male of the house, grabbing him and shaving off his beard...w/ electric clippers no less....this is out of hand....electric clippers? %@?  You know it's gotta be serious for the Amish to employ Satan's greatest invention.....electricity... (WTF).
